Google Keep Lets You Move Photos Across Applications

 Google Keep is a note-taking tool that is part of Google's free, web-based Google Docs Editors suite. The company has kept it quite simple with the note-taking app, it has all the basic functionalities that one would expect from a notes app but with a Google touch.

Google Keep is receiving a new feature that makes it simpler to transfer photographs across the applications you require, after the recent inclusion of a few of text formatting improvements.

Move Images Across Apps

Drag photographs and images from the image carousel into a Google Keep note, then drag them out onto other applications in Android's split-screen mode. The only GIF that followed Google's blog post depicts a tablet UI in action, so it's obvious what type of devices this functionality is intended for, but we've gotten drag-and-drop from Keep to work on phones.

We've confirmed via limited testing that you won't be able to drop photographs into anything such as move to iOS other than a Google app right now, at least not in Google Messages or the Google Workspace applications like Docs or Drive. Third-party messaging applications are our preferred destinations, but we believe Google will need to expand certain APIs to make that happen. That'll take some time, we're sure.

If you remember, the small taskbar at the bottom of the sample GIF was initially introduced with Android 12L, along with a slew of additional improvements Google offered to finally show some long-overdue love for tablets. Drag-and-drop capability would be really beneficial in many applications in a large-screen scenario, so we're hoping for more of it.
